My first love was Science. The feel of the test tubes, the flasks, the aroma if chemicals, the excitement of watching the end results.
Sadly, Math came between our love. I could not juggle numbers as well as I could theories and compounds. I could not keep up with the numerical ideas so entwined with the advances sciences of the academia.
I just wanted to experiment, watch in wonder as science explained the world around me, unraveling all the mysterious wonders of the universe. But all those numbers? No matter how hard I tried, I could not be at the same level as the numericals.
I couldn't handle the affair. Science and Math were hand in hand, no room left for me, even with my passions.

Day 14 – Science
I work with benchmark testing at a school district. One of my more recent tasks was to translate all the old science TEKS standards to the new science TEKS standards. (ie the stuff you’re supposed to know when taking the test, its how they measure your success on the test). So I’m sitting there reading the questions, matching the TEKS, and answering for fun. And it really makes me miss science. I was a science geek in elementary. I looooooved that subject.
As I got older, it became more and more about math and less about the science. Which, drove me toward the liberal arts: English and theater. And eventually an English degree, which is completely useless at the moment. A friend of mine got his BA in sociology and is no pursing his Masters in Bio. …sounds so tempting.
